Our Commitment To Privacy

The New Teacher Project is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. This Privacy Statement sets out our privacy policy and explains what we do with the personal information that we collect from you. Please read the following to understand our practices regarding personal information and how they affect you as you use our features and services. This statement discloses our current privacy practices; if we make material changes to these practices, we will announce them. In no event will The New Teacher Project be liable to any applicants or any third party for any damages, including without limitation any lost profits, lost savings or other incidental, consequential or special damages, arising from operation or inability to operate the TeacherNex web site, downloads of templates, products or external links and affiliate sites. Visitors, applicants, and third parties agree to indemnify and hold harmless The New Teacher Project and its agents and affiliates from any damages claimed as a result of information, resources, products or services, or third party links obtained from the TeacherNex site.

The Types of Information We Collect:

Information You Voluntarily Give to Us

We collect personally identifiable information you provide us when you submit an application to TeacherNex. The types of personal information collected as part of the application process may include without limitation:

  • Name
  • Address
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Credit/Debit Card Information

Automatically Collected Information

We automatically receive certain types of anonymous information that does not identify you whenever you interact with us through the TeacherNex website. The anonymous information includes the pages you view on our website and any search terms you enter into our search utility. In addition, we collect IP addresses for site security and to help us understand how people use our site so that we can improve our site and our users' respective experiences. For similar quality reasons, we use a feature known as a “cookie.” Cookies contain bits of information that websites transfer to your computer’s hard drive for record-keeping purposes. Cookies can make the Web more convenient by storing information about your preferences on a site. Although we may assign your browser a cookie, the cookie does not tell us who you are. The cookie will be encrypted with SSL for confidentiality of e-commerce.

The Way We Use Information:

We use the information you provide about yourself when applying only to complete that application, to fulfill financial transactions with Wachovia Bank, and in some cases, to prepare reports for internal TeacherNex circulation and confirmation of applicant receipts. We do not share this information with any person not associated or affiliated with The New Teacher Project or Wachovia Bank except to the extent necessary to complete the application, although information collected from applicants may be disclosed to others as required by law, subpoena, or legal process, to governmental authorities when necessary, to regulatory agencies in connection with audits, and when you consent to such disclosure.

We use the email addresses and telephone numbers you provide for TeacherNex communications only. Such addresses are not used for any other purpose and are not shared with outside parties except as provided in the previous paragraph. We have a no-spam policy and will not use your email address and telephone number for outside commercial purposes. We never use or share the personally identifiable information provided to us online in ways unrelated to the ones described in this paragraph and the previous paragraph without also providing you an opportunity to opt-out or otherwise prohibit such unrelated uses, with the exception of aggregate and demographic data usage.

Our Commitment To Data Security

To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. This site has security measures, such as customer payment encryption using Secure Socket Layers (SSL) technology, in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control.

Our Commitment to Children's Privacy

Our site is not directed at children under the age of 13. We operate our site in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act and will not knowingly collect or use personally identifiable information from anyone under 13.

We may change this Privacy Statement at any time, but we will give notice of any material change (or any notices that we are required to give you) on this website and/or in e-mail messages.
