We believe that Newarkâs students deserve the highest quality teachers possible. We want experienced teachers who have demonstrated their ability to foster academic success for all students. In recognition of the critically important role that teachers play in the education of their students, TeacherNex maintains high standards for all applicants. We require all candidates to complete an application, and select only those whom we feel can best close the achievement gap in Newark.

We believe teachers can have the greatest impact when they teach at the same school over a long period of time; as a result, we are seeking dedicated individuals who want to find a school where they can teach for at least the next three years.
We need teachers for all subjects and grade levels, but Newark has a particular need for candidates in math, science, special education, and bilingual education.
