New Jersey Certification
In order to apply to the TeacherNex hiring pool as a certified candidate, one must meet one of the following scenarios for a New Jersey teaching certificate. Please review the scenarios below to determine which best fits your situation:
- I currently hold a valid Standard New Jersey teaching certificate
- I am completing an approved college or university education program with student teaching in New Jersey and expect that my teaching certificate will be completed by August 2010
- I currently possess a teaching certificate from a state other than New Jersey OR am completing an approved college or university education program with student teaching outside of New Jersey to earn my teaching certification and will be finished by August 2010
- I am completing an approved college or university education program outside of New Jersey to earn my teaching certification and will be finished by August 2010
- I have a teaching certificate from a state other than New Jersey that is due for renewal or has expired
- I have a temporary or emergency certificate from New Jersey or another state
If you already have a Standard New Jersey teaching certificate, you will need to submit a copy of your certificate if you are accepted to join TeacherNex. Please check to make sure that your certificate has not expired.
I am completing an approved education program with student teaching in New Jersey to earn my teaching certificate and will be finished by August, 2010TeacherNex candidates who are graduating from an approved program will need to submit an official letter from your university’s teacher education program acknowledging that you are on track to complete all requirements to obtain your Provisional New Jersey Teaching Certificate by August 2010. You are expected to apply for your teaching certification through the teacher education program at which you are enrolled. I currently possess a teaching certificate from a state other than New Jersey and have one year’s teaching experience in good standing under my states’ final or initial level certificateTeacherNex candidates in this category should apply for a New Jersey Standard Teaching Certificate following the instructions at the New Jersey Department of Education Licensure and Credential website.
I am completing an approved college or university education program with student teaching outside of New Jersey to earn my teaching certification and will be finished by August 2010TeacherNex candidates who are graduating from an approved program will need to submit an official letter from your university’s teacher education program acknowledging that you are on track to complete all requirements to obtain your initial teaching certificate from your home state by August 2010. TeacherNex candidates in this category must apply for a New Jersey Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing (CEAS) following the instructions at the New Jersey Department of Education Licensure and Credential website.
I have a teaching certificate from a state other than New Jersey that is due for renewal or has expiredTeacherNex candidates in this category should apply for a New Jersey Standard Teaching Certificate or Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Stading following the instructions at the New Jersey Department of Education Licensure and Credential website.
