Association with TNTP

TeacherNex is a service program of The New Teacher Project (TNTP), a national non-profit organization dedicated to increasing the number of outstanding individuals who become public school teachers and to creating environments for all educators that maximize their impact on student achievement. Founded by teachers in 1997, TNTP helps school districts and states address their most acute teacher quality challenges by creating innovative programs that dramatically increase the supply of qualified teachers for high-need classrooms and by dismantling the policy barriers that prevent disadvantaged schools from hiring the best teachers possible.

Since its inception, TNTP has trained or recruited approximately 33,000 teachers and released two acclaimed national studies of urban teacher hiring issues. It is currently active in 25 cities nationwide, including Baltimore, Chicago, Denver, Miami, New Orleans, New York, Oakland and Washington DC, among others.

As a service program of TNTP, TeacherNex benefits from the organization’s 10 years of experience recruiting, selecting, training and hiring exceptional teachers for high-need schools across the country and its extensive research on teacher hiring and school staffing. TeacherNex is an innovative product of the organization’s accumulated knowledge, expertise and best practices and is backed by TNTP’s resources and national staff.
