What is TeacherNex

TeacherNex connects high-need Newark schools with quality teachers. As part of its work to ensure all students receive an excellent education, TeacherNex also offers accomplished individuals a pathway to full teacher certification and provide job search support in finding a teaching position.  We recruit and train talented and driven people, like you, to teach in Newark’s high-need public schools and work toward raising student achievement for all of Newark’s students.  No prior experience in teaching or education is necessary.

This is a highly-selective path, designed for outstanding individuals who want to make a difference in Newark’s communities by serving in some of our highest-need public schools teaching math, science, special education, and bilingual education.  Alternate route TeacherNex candidates will, upon acceptance and enrollment into the program, participate in an intensive summer Training Institute.  Once you find a full-time teaching position, you will pursue coursework to obtain your teaching license and will receive a full-time teacher’s salary and benefits once you begin teaching.
