Given the opportunity and the right training, talented and driven individuals who do not have a background in education can become extraordinarily effective and valuable teachers.  TeacherNex selects candidates with demonstrated success in other careers and a deep commitment to teaching in Newark public schools for years to come.  We run an intensive six-week summer Institute at no cost to our candidates as an initial preparation for a career in teaching.
